What do I need to do before you come?
What pest control companies need to publish
Preparation determines whether the treatment works, and a badly prepared home wastes the visit and the customer's money.
How customers actually ask it
The same intent arrives in wording your page probably does not use. All of these mean the same thing:
- “What do I need to do before you come?”
- “how to prepare for pest control”
- “do I need to empty my cabinets”
- “bed bug preparation checklist”
What a complete answer contains
For pest control companies specifically, an answer is only complete when it covers all 5:
- 1
That preparation differs sharply by pest and treatment type
- 2
The kitchen requirements for roach work specifically: cabinet access and food storage
- 3
The laundry and decluttering requirements for bed bug treatment, which are substantial
- 4
Pets, fish tanks and birds, which need different handling from each other
- 5
How long to stay out afterwards, and how that varies by product
A worked example
Illustrative — not a real business
It depends on the pest. For a general perimeter treatment, almost nothing — clear access around the outside of the house. For roaches, empty the lower kitchen and bathroom cabinets so we can treat the voids where they actually live. For bed bugs the prep list is long and it is not optional: all bedding and clothing washed and dried hot, bagged and kept sealed, and the clutter reduced so we can reach the harbourage. Cover fish tanks and turn off the pump for four hours; birds should leave the house entirely; cats and dogs need to be out until surfaces dry, usually two to four hours.

What silence costs
An unprepared home means a repeat visit, and whoever absorbs that cost ends up resenting the job.

AI customer support for pest control companies
Pest control's most consequential unanswered question isn't pricing — it's whether a follow-up visit is free. A guarantee window and what voids it decide that, and RubyRep states it plainly instead of leaving the customer to find out by calling and hoping.

What is AI customer service?
AI customer service means answering customer questions with a language model rather than a person. The useful implementations are grounded in a specific business's own content; the poor ones let a general model improvise, which produces confident answers that are wrong.

What is a knowledge base?
Traditionally a knowledge base is a help centre humans read. For AI support it is the source material a representative answers from — which means an ordinary website, well written, can serve as one without a separate help centre.
