Do you allow pets?
What property management companies need to publish
Pet owners filter listings by this before anything else, and an unanswered pet question loses the lead before a human ever sees the enquiry.
How customers actually ask it
The same intent arrives in wording your page probably does not use. All of these mean the same thing:
- “Do you allow pets?”
- “pet policy”
- “pet deposit amount”
- “can I have a dog in my apartment”
- “breed restrictions”
What a complete answer contains
For property management companies specifically, an answer is only complete when it covers all 4:
- 1
Which pets are allowed, with any weight or breed restrictions stated specifically
- 2
The actual deposit and any recurring pet rent, as real numbers
- 3
Whether the policy varies by property, and how to check a specific address
- 4
Any documentation required, like vaccination records
A worked example
Illustrative — not a real business
Most of our properties allow dogs under 40lbs with a $300 one-time pet deposit and $35/month pet rent — a few buildings have breed restrictions, which I can check for a specific address. Cats are allowed at the same properties with a $200 deposit and no monthly pet rent. We'll need current vaccination records before move-in.
Which page should own it
Pet policy page, or per-listing details
What silence costs
Pet owners are a large share of renters, and a vague pet policy filters them out of a search before the property manager ever finds out they were interested.

AI customer support for property management companies
A property manager's inbound questions split cleanly between tenants and prospective renters, and both sets are mostly repetitive: how to report a maintenance issue, when rent is due, what the pet policy is, whether a listed unit is still available. RubyRep answers all of it from published pages, and is explicit that logging a maintenance request is not the same as dispatching someone — the second part still needs a person.

What is AI customer service?
AI customer service means answering customer questions with a language model rather than a person. The useful implementations are grounded in a specific business's own content; the poor ones let a general model improvise, which produces confident answers that are wrong.

What is a knowledge base?
Traditionally a knowledge base is a help centre humans read. For AI support it is the source material a representative answers from — which means an ordinary website, well written, can serve as one without a separate help centre.
