Broken link checker
Enter a page URL and we'll check every link on it.
Extracts every outbound link on a page and checks each one, reporting anything that returns an error or fails to respond. Dead links are a slow leak of credibility that nobody reports to you.
How it works
- 1
We fetch the page and extract every href, resolving relative URLs against the page.
- 2
Each unique link gets a HEAD request, up to 40 per run.
- 3
Anything returning 4xx, 5xx or no response at all is reported.
Questions about this tool
- Why only 40 links?
- Each check is a network request, and the whole run happens inside a single request with a CPU budget. Forty covers the vast majority of pages; a full-site crawl is a different kind of tool.
- Some links report an error but work in my browser.
- Some servers reject HEAD requests, or block anything that is not a browser. Those show as failures here but are fine for real visitors — check any surprise manually.
