Are you available on our date?

What photography studios need to publish

Couples ask this of five studios at once and book whoever confirms availability and the booking mechanics fastest — a slow or vague answer loses the inquiry regardless of talent or price.

How customers actually ask it

The same intent arrives in wording your page probably does not use. All of these mean the same thing:

  • “Are you available on our date?”
  • “is your calendar open that day”
  • “do you have my wedding date free”
  • “can you shoot on the 14th”

What a complete answer contains

For photography studios specifically, an answer is only complete when it covers all 4:

  1. 1

Current availability stated honestly, not a stale calendar

  2. 2

The explicit rule for when a date is actually held — contract and retainer, not the inquiry itself

  3. 3

What happens if two people ask about the same date

  4. 4

The fastest path to actually lock in the date

A worked example

Illustrative — not a real business

That date currently shows as open on our calendar. It isn't held until a signed contract and retainer are received, though, since we get several inquiries a week for popular Saturdays — I can send the booking link now if you'd like to move on it.

Which page should own it

Booking and availability page

What silence costs

A studio that can't answer this in minutes loses the booking to whichever competitor can, independent of portfolio quality.
