When are you open?

What clinics and practices need to publish

Working patients need to know whether they can be seen without taking time off. It is a scheduling question with a real answer.

How customers actually ask it

The same intent arrives in wording your page probably does not use. All of these mean the same thing:

  • When are you open?
  • opening times
  • are you open Saturdays
  • late appointments
  • bank holiday hours

What a complete answer contains

For clinics and practices specifically, an answer is only complete when it covers all 5:

  1. 1

Hours per day, not a single range covering the week

  2. 2

Whether reception hours and appointment hours differ, which they usually do

  3. 3

Evening and weekend availability stated explicitly

  4. 4

    How bank holidays are handled

  5. 5

Out-of-hours instructions, separated clearly from emergency instructions

A worked example

Illustrative — not a real business

Reception is open Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. Appointments run until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are closed on bank holidays. Outside these hours, call NHS 111 for advice, or 999 in an emergency.

Which page should own it

Contact page, and Google Business Profile

What silence costs

This is one of the highest-volume queries a practice receives and one of the simplest to answer once, permanently.
