Can we hire the restaurant for a private event?
What restaurants and cafes need to publish
This is the single highest-value enquiry a restaurant receives, and it usually arrives by email because the website does not answer it. The organiser is early in planning and will shortlist whoever gives them numbers.
How customers actually ask it
The same intent arrives in wording your page probably does not use. All of these mean the same thing:
- “Can we hire the restaurant for a private event?”
- “private hire”
- “exclusive use”
- “book the whole restaurant”
- “function room”
What a complete answer contains
For restaurants and cafes specifically, an answer is only complete when it covers all 5:
- 1
What can be hired — a room, a floor, or exclusive use of the whole site
- 2
Minimum spend or hire fee, per session and by day of the week
- 3
Capacity, seated and standing, for each space
- 4
What is included — staff, AV, decoration — and what costs extra
- 5
Who to contact and how quickly they respond
A worked example
Illustrative — not a real business
The private room seats 24 or holds 40 standing, with a minimum spend of £900 Sunday to Thursday and £1,400 on Friday and Saturday. Exclusive use of the whole restaurant is available on Mondays only, seating 70, with a minimum spend of £4,000. Staff, table linen and a screen with HDMI are included; flowers and a DJ are not. Email events@ and you will hear back within one working day.

What silence costs
The most valuable booking of the month goes to a competitor whose page published a minimum spend.

AI customer support for restaurants
Restaurant enquiries arrive at exactly the moment nobody can answer them: during service, on a phone nobody can reach, from someone deciding right now where to eat tonight. Most of what they ask is already on the website. RubyRep reads it and answers instantly, on the site, while the decision is still open.

What is AI customer service?
AI customer service means answering customer questions with a language model rather than a person. The useful implementations are grounded in a specific business's own content; the poor ones let a general model improvise, which produces confident answers that are wrong.
term
What is a knowledge base?
Traditionally a knowledge base is a help centre humans read. For AI support it is the source material a representative answers from — which means an ordinary website, well written, can serve as one without a separate help centre.
Does your site answer this already?
Point RubyRep at your website and ask it this exact question. If it cannot answer, neither can your customers.
